bone fishing on Arreciefe Alacranes with Diego Nuñez of Rio Lagartos Adventures

The tarpon above was landed after a three hour fight that started about a mile from the beach. It was the first tarpon for Johan,a seasoned fly fisherman from Holland. We worked the 65 kilo giant to the beach to land it for photos without injuring the fish. It was revived and released.More photos of this catch on theBig Tarpon page.

Baby Tarpon are abundant here all year long.We fish them in the protected water of the estuary.Spin casting  for these powerful acrobatic fish is also great sport. We can always show you the fish and put you on top of them.We can' t always make
them bite.! This is also an excellent place to learn the art of salt water flats fly fishing. As guides it's part of our job to teach. We have many experienced fresh water fly fishermen that come to learn
